Advice you’d like to share with the Incoming Class: Don’t be afraid to ask for help! There are so many people here that are able to help you out with whatever you need, but you have to take the steps to get that help! Professors love having students talk to them during office hours, and you will love having an edge on the other students for doing so. I know they might seem scary, but when you meet with a professor one on one you’ll realize that they’re just there to help you do your best!
MY BEST STUDY TIP: Look at old exams from the class—most of these can be found online, and if you ask any upperclassman they will know where to tell you to find them. Just retake these exams over and over again until you master them, and then no matter what the professor throws you on your exam, you’ll be ready for it!
My Time Management Strategy: Use your google calendar! It keeps me super organized with all my classes, due dates, and club meetings—it sets up reminders for me even when I forget to check the calendar myself!
Resources at Stevens I’ve Used: Tutors! If you know a class is going to be tough, sign up for a tutor in that class at the beginning of the semester—it’s free, and they’re there to help you with any and all questions you may have. (especially helpful when studying for exams and doing homework!)
What Do You Like Best About Stevens? I love the overall atmosphere and supporting community—Stevens is not an easy school to attend, but all the professors, advisors, and other students will bend over backwards to help you do your best. That’s why I love Stevens and why I love being a peer mentor—so I can give back!
