Advice you’d like to share with the Incoming Class: Get involved. If you want to have the full college experience join a club, sports team, fraternity or sorority, it is the easiest way to socialize, relax, and to get away from the books.
My Best Study Tip: Pick up the books you never did in High School; you need to read in college. Take notes on the readings and create a small study guide. When it comes to test time you won’t have to cram, you can just review your class notes and study guides.
My Time Management Strategy: Start small and don’t overload. You want to try everything that college has to offer but your academics should come first. If you aren’t doing well in school then do not overload your schedule. Start with one or two clubs that really interest you and build off of that.
Resources at Stevens I’ve Used: Career Development Office (I’m in there at least twice a week), Student Life Services, and the Student Center at the Howe School of Technology Management (this is for business students)
What Do You Like Best About Stevens? The free Wednesday afternoons! Being free at 1:00pm often leaves me the entire afternoon to relax, catch up on work, or go to club meetings. It’s a nice break halfway through each week.
