HOBOKEN , N.J. — Manu Malek, Industry Professor of Computer Science and Director of the Graduate Certificate in CyberSecurity program at Stevens Institute of Technology, will make an IEEE-sponsored Distinguished Lecture Tour to Latin America . The tour, from Nov. 6-10, 2006 , is supported by the IEEE Communications Society and the local IEEE Chapters and includes three cities: Sao Paulo ( Brazil ), Lima ( Peru ) and San Salvador ( El Salvador ). Malek will make two presentations in each location. The topics of the presentations are: security and information assurance, WLAN security and security forensics. The audience will include IEEE members and non-members from academia and industry.
Malek’s research interests include internet security, (wireless) network security, security management, and security forensics. He serves as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Network and Systems Management and editor of Springer Book Series on Network and Systems Management. In addition to his position as an IEEE distinguished lecturer, he is a member of the Steering Committee of Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems and a member of the International Federation for Information Processing.Founded in 1870, Stevens Institute of Technology is one of the leading technological universities in the world dedicated to learning and research.
