HOBOKEN , N.J. — In January 2007, Stevens Institute of Technology will launch its Information Systems Masters Degree program globally through Stevens’ online unit, WebCampus.
“Rapid advancements in technology, dynamic markets, and the changing business environment have created increased demand for professionals who can manage and deliver information systems,” said Jerry Luftman, Distinguished Professor and Associate Dean of the MSIS Program.
Tailored to provide participants with the management, business, strategic, and technical skills Stevens’ online MSIS graduate program helps students apply information systems more efficiently and effectively. With an internationally recognized faculty in information technology, technology management, and business strategy, the program teaches IT professionals how to help their organizations achieve success through alignment and deployment of business and IT strategies. The MSIS program is an interdisciplinary combination of twelve courses.
The instructor-led, e-learning degree is offered over a two-year period with each course delivered in a thirteen-week semester. Online courses combine live lectures, online discussions, individual and team projects where students perform tailored course exercises. Emphasis is on participating in team projects, providing practical experience that can be applied immediately to business objectives.
With 17 MSIS concentrations currently available, nine are now available on the web –including Project Management, Information Systems, Entrepreneurial IT, Computer Science, Information Security, Quantitative Software Engineering, Systems Engineering and Telecommunications.

WebCampus will hold online open houses to answer corporate and student questions regarding the online requirements. Brief demonstrations of the course software will also be presented.
