Skyline Conference championships to be held at Stevens

Women’s volleyball and soccer, and men’s soccer take place on Nov. 5

HOBOKEN , N.J. —Stevens Institute of Technology has earned the opportunity to host the Skyline Conference women’s volleyball, men’s soccer and women’s soccer championships all on the same day, Saturday, Nov. 5, for the second consecutive year. The winner of each championship earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship Tournament.

All women’s volleyball matches will be held in Canavan Arena. The schedule is as follows:

Semi-final: Stevens vs. SUNY-Old Westbury, 10 a.m.

Semi-final: US Merchant Marine Academy vs. St Joseph 's (LI), 12 p.m.

Championship: 3 p.m.

The Stevens women’s volleyball team is currently 28-5 overall and 8-0 in the Skyline Conference. One more win will break the school record for wins in a season. Stevens will be aiming for its second consecutive conference championship and trip to the NCAA Tournament.

The Men’s Soccer Championship, Stevens vs. US Merchant Marine Academy, will be held on De Baun Field at 4 p.m. The Stevens men’s soccer team sports a record of 13-3-2 overall and is 9-0 in the Skyline Conference. The Ducks have won 32 consecutive Skyline games and are looking to claim their fourth Skyline title in the last five years. Senior Steve Liebezeit has already tied the school record for goals in a single season with 21.

The Women’s Soccer Championship, Stevens vs. Manhattanville College , takes place on De Baun Field at 1p.m. The Stevens women’s soccer team is 16-2 and 6-0 in Skyline Conference play. The team boasts a 39-match winning streak in the Skyline Conference, which is currently the nation’s longest in Division III and the seventh largest all time record. A win on Saturday would give the team its fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Adding to Saturday’s excitement, the Stevens men’s and women’s swimming teams take to the water in the De Baun Aquatic Center at 1:00 p.m. in a meet against William Paterson University . In addition, the women’s tennis team will also play for a Skyline Conference championship this Saturday, as the team travels to Manhattanville for their championship match at noon.
