HOBOKEN, N.J. — People from computer rooms to board rooms are discussing outsourcing. Firms are questioning the merits and ways to ensure that, if outsourcing is done, it is done appropriately.
The information technology management leaders at Stevens Institute of Technology’s Howe School of Technology Management have brought together a team of experts to prepare the organizations considering outsourcing and vendors who are looking to improve outsourcing partnerships.
“The idea is that both companies and vendors/consultants have an opportunity to learn how to enhance all aspects of the engagement,” says Program Director Jerry Luftman. “The topic of outsourcing has sparked enormous interest both nationally and internationally from vendors and clients. The Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) program is meeting the needs of these varied constituents.”
This new educational offering is available in several viable alternatives, a four (4) course graduate certificate, a concentration in the Master of Science in Information Systems and a major in the MBA in Technology Management. The four courses that comprise the certificate and concentrations are:
MIS 650 IT Outsourcing: Governance and Measurement
MIS 651 The Organizational Impact of IT Outsourcing
MIS 652 Relationship Management in IT Outsourcing
MIS 653 IT Outsourcing: Legal Issues
