HOBOKEN, N.J. — Ziff Davis Media's CIO Insight magazine announced yesterday it will hold a full-day summit this fall on the critical business issues facing Chief Information Officers (CIOs) and other senior-level technology executives. Among the featured experts in the area of information systems management will be Dr. Jerry Luftman, Director of the Master of Science in Information Systems program at Stevens Institute of Technology’s Howe School of Technology Management.
The event, the annual CIO Insight Alignment Summit, will focus on the challenge organizations face in creating a corporate culture that enables alignment of business and IT to flourish and stakeholders to benefit from the results. The event is produced by Ziff Davis Custom Conference Group.
This year the CIO Alignment Summit will be held Oct. 14 at the Navy Pier in Chicago, Ill. The summit will feature a full-day of workshops, CIO roundtables and pre-arranged one-on-one meetings.

“Companies that have created a collaborative culture are far more likely to achieve their alignment goals, while those whose communication is poor and governance model fractured are often destined for failure,” said Ellen Pearlman, Editor-in-Chief of CIO Insight.
The CIO Insight Alignment Summit is designed specifically to help CIOs and other senior-level technology executives focus on the strategies and techniques for creating a collaborative culture that will support the alignment of IT and business strategies. In addition to Dr. Luftman, the summit will feature leading CIOs, business executives and academic researchers, including Atefeh Razi, CIO, Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide and Kathy Brittain White, former CIO, Cardinal Health.
The experts will help educate executives on how to create effective strategies that enable them to improve their business practices and deliver value to their organization.
Participants will learn new ways to communicate with CxOs and the Board; harness employee talent; bridge the generation gap between IT and the business organization; create a strategic communication plan; and enhance the credibility of IT.
