Stevens' programs are certified by American Society of Engineering Management

HOBOKEN, N.J. - The Executive Masters of Technology Management (EMTM) Program in the Wesley J. Howe School of Technology Management and the Masters of Engineering Management (MEEM) program in the Charles V. Schaefer, Jr. School of Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology have received Certification from the American Society of Engineering Management (ASEM).

The certification was by a unanimous vote of the American Society of Engineering National Board, who met in St. Louis, Mo., Oct. 13. The EMTM and MEEM programs were the first two of only three programs to receive ASEM Certification. It is expected that other leading engineering/technology programs will seek ASEM Certification.

With more than 100 engineering/technology management graduate programs in the US, ASEM created a process to certify those that meet the ASEM criteria and that successfully pass a visitation by a two-person ASEM certification team.

ASEM certification criteria were developed over the last two years and included input from a number of schools represented on the national ASEM board.

Dr. Donald N. Merino, Alexander Crombie Humphreys Professor of Economics of Engineering, is the founding Program Director of EMTM and MEEM programs. "The two Stevens programs were judged to meet all the criteria, which connotes a very high level of academic excellence," Merino said.
