Technology Ventures Incubator showcase at Stevens, June 6

On June 6, 2001, the Technology Ventures Incubator at Stevens Institute of Technology will host its Eighth Annual Technology Showcase and Luncheon at the Wesley J. Howe Center, one block east of 8th and Washington Streets on the Hoboken Campus.

The Showcase and Luncheon will occur between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on June 6th. Registration is $15, although press may cover the event at no charge. Please confirm attendance before May 25, 2001, to Gina Boesch at 201-216-5366 or gboesch@stevens.edu.

The keynote speaker will be Ralph Faison, Vice President, Lucent New Ventures Group. Faison joined the New Ventures Group in 1997, after having successfully launched Lucent’s award-winning brand advertising campaign. His current focus is in the areas of multimedia and wireless. He is a member of the board of directors of several Lucent ventures, including Lucent Digital Radio, WatchMark Corp, face2face animation, and Flarion Technologies.

A number of TVI businesses will also display their technologies and provide information about their services, including PlasmaSol, which placed as “Environmental Company of the Year” at the 2000 New Jersey Technology Council Venture Fair. The winner of the NJTC 2001 “Best Emerging Company of the Year” award, Visible Tech-knowledgy, will also have personnel on hand.

Stevens’ Technology Ventures Incubator is one of seven academic-related incubators in the state of New Jersey dedicated to assisting entrepreneurs in start-up ventures. TVI companies have generated more than 200 new jobs. They have been awarded 132 patents in their respective technologies and received over $22.5 million in external funding. TVI is supported in part by the New Jersey Commission on Science and Technology and by corporate sponsors. Stevens’ TVI is directed by Gina Boesch.
