Udit Mehrotra ’02 bags Young Innovative Telecom Entrepreneur Award

Stevens alumnus and founder of Ubico Networks awarded at National Telecom Awards 2009 in New Delhi, India

HOBOKEN, N.J. ― Stevens Institute of Technology alumnus, Udit Mehrotra ’02, was awarded the Young Innovative Telecom Entrepreneur Award at the National Telecom Awards, July 26, 2009 , in New Delhi , India .

This award, given by the Minister of State for Communications & IT Gurudas Kamat, is organized by the Communications & Manufacturing Association of India.

Mehrotra holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering as well as a Master of Science degree in Telecommunication Management from Stevens. In addition, he serves on the Board of Vihaan Networks Ltd. and Citycom Networks.

He is the founder of Ubico Networks, established in 2007, is responsible for the creation of India ’s first independent in-building infrastructure provider of on-demand mobile coverage for operators.
