Roscitt presents lecture via satellite at DeBaun Auditorium

HOBOKEN, N.J. — Stevens alumnus and Trustee Rick Roscitt, the president of AT&T Business Services, will speak on "Networking in the New Economy" live via satellite Wednesday, April 26, from 4-5 p.m. in DeBaun Auditorium (located in Edwin A. Stevens Hall, 5th and Hudson streets in Hoboken). The lecture, which is free and open to the public, includes an interactive question and answer segment involving both the campus and online communities.

The lecture will also be available live online at www.att.com/e-alliance. Viewers may submit questions to Roscitt by e-mail or telephone. In addition, the lecture will be seen on Stevens’ WEXP, the campus cable television channel offered in students’ residence halls.

Roscitt’s lecture, part of a series called AT&T Leaders in Networking, will explore how changes in technology are redefining the business world. The live satellite lecture is offered in DeBaun Auditorium as part of a new lecture series sponsored by the new undergraduate program in business and technology in the Wesley J. Howe School of Technology Management.

The lecture inaugurates the AT&T Education Alliance, an effort designed to address the skills shortage in networking and information technology. Charter members of the new alliance include Stevens and four other leading universities.

The focus of the AT&T Education Alliance, Roscitt says, is to help develop a different kind of college graduate with a richer set of skills to succeed in the new "Internet-driven e-conomy." Stevens’ new business and technology degree program, scheduled to start in the fall of 2000, is an example of the kinds of efforts AT&T is supporting through the alliance.

More information on the April 26 lecture and the AT&T Education Alliance is available online at www.att.com/solutions/vmc.
