New York State Marine Education Association to visit Stevens

NYSMEA board and members will hear about research at Stevens’

HOBOKEN , N.J. – Members of the New York State Marine Education Association (NYSMEA) will visit Stevens Institute of Technology on Saturday, February 23, 2008 , to hear about the research activities at the university’s Center for Maritime Systems (CMS) including the Center’s work in near coastal observation, naval architecture and maritime systems. The NYSMEA Board of Directors will meet in the morning on the Stevens campus. Then, in the afternoon, the Association's members will join the Board for presentations about Stevens and the CMS's programs as well as a walking tour of the campus and David son Laboratory. The visit to Stevens will be hosted by Dr. Thomas Wakeman, Deputy Director of the Center for Maritime Systems.

NYSMEA exists to promote marine awareness and encourage the growth and exchange of instructional resources within the scientific, commercial, and edu cational communities. Members include edu cators from all levels; museum, aquarium, and environmental center staff, research scientists, laboratory technicians and those with interests in SCUBA, fishing, boating, maritime history, folklore, archeology and the arts.
