Grasso appointed to the scientific advisory board of Legend Merchant Group

Wall Street-based financial services firm expanding into the healthcare vertical

HOBOKEN , N.J. — Dr. S. Vincent Grasso, Adjunct Professor within the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Stevens Institute of Technology, has been appointed to the scientific advisory board of Legend Merchant Group (LMG).

“LMG has provided me with an opportunity to translate my domain expertise within clinical care, IT and business processes into a financial upside for the firm, their clients, investors and strategic partners,” said Grasso.

“Legend Merchant Group’s health sciences practice has been immeasurably aided by the firm’s scientific advisory committee of which Dr. Grasso is a founding member. Navigating the complexities of the health sciences industry posses a daunting task to the uninitiated,” said LMG’s president and chief operating officer, Tom Gallagher. “Our clients’ interests range from medical devices and electronics to pharmacology and genetic engineering. Without the diverse and collective experience of our advisory committee, including knowledgeable advisors like Vincent Grasso, it would be virtually impossible to understand our clients’ activities and meet their financial needs.”

Brad McGowan, executive vice president of LMG, said, “Our scientific advisory committee provides a definitive edge and unique perspective to our growing life sciences practice at LMG when our banking team evaluates these emerging growth companies. Our advisors also have extensive and vast networks of contacts and relationships in the medical and healthcare industry therefore they are able to provide invaluable feedback to our firm so that we can make better informed decisions and better understand our client’s needs, their technologies and the science behind their technology.”

Grasso is a Mt. Sinai , Yale University-trained surgeon. He was a past NASA Project Manager at the NASA Yale University Commercial Space Center for Medical Informatics and Technology Applications (CSCMITA) and is the founder of Technology Integrations for Medical Applications, Inc. (TIMA), a software-development company focused upon the healthcare vertical. Grasso will serve as the expedition leader and medical director of an expedition to Mt. Everest in May 2008. He will be performing a wide range of physiological tests via the use of next-generation portable medical devices and sensors. For more information, visit www.everest2008.net
