Stevens alumna Soni appointed YES BANK Country Head

HOBOKEN , N.J. — Rita Soni, a Stevens Institute of Technology alumna, Class of 1992, has been appointed Country Head for YES BANK of India . In this position, she will be spearheading a pioneering business approach to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability. Her team will work across YES BANK divisions to incorporate and further integrate Responsible Banking. She will be reporting to Somak Ghosh, Group President – Corporate Finance & Development Banking.

Soni brings with her nearly 15 years of diverse experiences in the private and non-profit sectors. Prior to joining YES BANK, she was with the American India Foundation (AIF) heading up Communications & Advocacy for the India operations. AIF, born after the 2001 Gujarat earthquake, is an international development organization charged with the mission of accelerating social and economic change in India . She worked with NGO partners and AIF programs to execute real improvements in the lives of the most marginalized across India .

Prior to this, Soni was a founding team member of the International Fellowships Program with Ford Foundation, focused on worldwide affirmative action for communities excluded from higher education. She started her professional development with General Electric, moving from an exclusive management-training program to the elite Corporate Audit Staff, to operations finance at NBC.

In addition to her Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree with honors from Stevens, Soni has a master’s degree in International Affairs (MIA) from Columbia University ’s School of International and Public Affairs in New York City .
