New web publication, StevensViews, debuts online

HOBOKEN, N.J. - Looking for easy, online access to news and calendar items, timely features and other up-to-date information about Stevens Institute of Technology? Look no further than its new digital publication, StevensViews, at StevensNewsService.com/Views.

StevensViews, the new online publication created and maintained by the Stevens News Service, offers fresh news, insights on new directions the institute is taking, and features that get to the heart of what Stevens community members are doing and saying now - whether they are faculty, students, staff, alumni, administrators, colleagues or friends.

"Stevens keeps pace with the high-tech world of today," says Cass Bruton-Ward, director of the Stevens News Service and university relations. "We saw a need for a user-friendly, comprehensive news publication just as dynamic as the university - something that could be updated daily and accessed anytime, from anywhere, by anyone with an interest in Stevens.

"StevensViews answers that need. It also affords readers the opportunity to give feedback immediately so we can be more responsive in providing the news and information people need."

Sections within StevensViews include: "Latest News," recent news stories produced by the Stevens News Service; "In the News," the latest media highlights; "Stevens Voices," guest columns; "Faculty News," features and updates on faculty; "Stevens People," articles about people who are part of the Stevens community; "Winning Views," athletics and wellness program highlights; and the latest "Events Calendar." A navigational button for each of these sections appears on the left side of the screen as readers browse StevensViews.

The web publication will have a print-version counterpart, due out later this month, with news briefs and other content mirroring that of the online version. The printed version will be available monthly on campus and by request.

StevensViews editor Jaimee Moore, assistant director of university relations at Stevens, seeks feedback and items for inclusion in the publication on a continual basis. Moore may reached at jmoore@stevens.edu
