HOBOKEN, N.J. — The Center for Science Writings at Stevens Institute of Technology presents, “Behind the Lines: The Story of the Remarkable Men and Women Who Made the Scientific Discoveries and Developed the Weapons that Changed the Course of World War II.” This event will take place Wednesday, November 14, at 4 p.m. in the Babbo Center, Room 122.
Author and journalist, Jennet Conant has garnered much praise for her exploration of the secretive, underground world that encapsulated the science and technology of World War II. Conant will discuss her two books, Tuxedo Park and 109 East Palace, that detail the human drama that unfolded around scientists and researchers who worked to develop world-changing technologies like the atomic bomb.
All Center for Science Writings events are free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
