Spring 1999 student leadership conference January 29 - 30

Stevens Institute of Technology will conduct its Spring ’99 student leadership conference, "Designs for Development," Jan. 29 and 30, at the university. Officers and members of various student groups and organizations will attend sessions on both days involving teamwork, budgeting and planning issues.

Friday Jan. 29

5:00 p.m. Check-in, 4th floor lobby
5:30 p.m. Dinner, Pierce Room, second floor
6:30 p.m. "Centergy" session, Bissinger Room, fourth floor
Topics include: levels of commitment, communications delegation, effective teamwork, building cohesiveness and keys to empowerment.

Saturday, Jan. 30

9:00 a.m. Continental Breakfast, Bissinger Room
9:30 a.m. "Jump Start." Topics include: planning, publicity and leadership.
12:30 p.m. Lunch, Pierce Room
1:30 p.m. "Avoiding Programming Nightmares" breakout sessions, including parliamentary procedures, "Putting the Planning Back In Program Planning" and fiduciary functions of organizations.
3:45 p.m. Liability Issues facing Greeks and student organizations.
5:00 p.m. Dinner, Pierce Room
6:00 p.m. Wrapup, Bissinger Room
