Welcome
We are seeking individuals who find joy in informal pursuits of knowledge. This love of knowledge is the link that joins us despite our differences in cultural backgrounds, social classes, religious stances, and majors. As a collective of peers, we are able to engage in discussions over contemporary films, books, art, as well as music while incorporating ideas brought up in traditional texts. Our intent is to create an intellectually stimulating environment at Stevens while promoting student camaraderie and interaction, leaving enough room for self expression and fun!
The e-board organizes a variety of formal events during the year including film viewings, discussions/debates, and game nights as well as trips to see theatre, music, and art in and around the New York City area. Check out one out for yourself, and bring your opinions with you!
However, we always have room for and promote membership involvement, so if you want to have an event based on a topic you feel strongly about, let us know! You can find us on facebook as “Stevens NEW and Improved Philosophy Club”, by e-mailing the e-board at philosophy_club@stevens.edu, or stop by our lounge in person (it is located in Pierce 207.) And while you’re at it, stay and have some tea/coffee and a cookie.
