The proposal submission process starts at the time a faculty member makes the decision that he/she may be submitting a proposal to a sponsor.  This procedure applies to all research proposals and is intended to streamline the submission process, as well as allow OSP and the Pre-Award team to serve  you better.

Step 1:  Input the information for the contemplated proposal to the "Proposal Alert System" at least five (5) weeks prior to due date if you plan to respond to a solicitation that has a limit on the number of proposals that can be submitted per university and at least three (3) weeks before due date for all other proposals.

Once you submit this information into the Proposal Alert System, OSP and the Pre-Award team will be automatically informed of the new contemplated proposal, and you will be contacted in order to inform you of who your assigned Pre-Award Specialist will be. Your Pre-Award Specialist will be available to personally assist and guide you through the proposal preparation process, as necessary.

Step 2: Submit an electronic version of the draft budget and draft proposal to the Pre-Award Specialist for his/her review at least five (5) business days prior to due date.

Step 3:  Submit final budget, final proposal, and all other required documentation in electronic or hard copy form (as required) to the Pre-Award Specialist at least three (3) business days prior to due date.

Step 4:  Submit the Proposal Routing Form signed by the PI and any Stevens Co-PIs to the Pre-Award Specialist at least two (2) business days prior to due date. (OSP will obtain the remaining signatures on the Routing Form (e.g. Director, Dean, etc.) on behalf of the PI.)

Please be aware that the Pre-Award Specialist is working in collaboration with the rest of OSP to review and submit your proposal in a timely fashion.  The Pre-Award deadlines above reflect the time needed for a thorough review, revisions (if necessary), and submission by OSP to the sponsor by the deadline date.
