Welcome to Nano & Microfluidics Lab at the Stevens Institute of Technology. We are active in research covering a wide variety of topics, including:
- Large-area 3-D nanopatterning and nanostructure fabrication
- Microfluidic self-assembly of nanomaterials
- Nanoscale interfacial phenomena
- Multifunctional superhydrophobic surfaces
- Nanofluidic energy harvesting
- Optofluidic waveguide and sensor
Our research is currently supported by NSF, DOE, DARPA, ONR, ARMY, and ACS PRF. Current collaborators include Prof. Eui-Hyeok Yang (Stevens), Prof. Sung Kwon Cho (University of Pittsburg), Dr. Dennis Nagle (Johns Hopkins University), Pierre-Yves Tessier (CNRS-IMN, France), Dr. John Simpson (Oak Ridge National Laboratory), and Dr. Vinod Sikka (Ross Technology Corporation).
Depending on funding availability, we frequently seek for motivated graduate students and post-docs from a variety of disciplines including Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Bioengineering, Physics, and other related majors to carry out research in the following areas depending on his/her interest: 1) Nanopatterning and Nanostructure Fabrication; 2) Self-Assembly of Nanomaterials; 3) Experimental Fluid Mechanics and Heat Transfer; 4) Micro/Nano/Opto Fluidics; 5) Cell-Material Interactions. Interested applicants are strongly encouraged to send to Prof. Chang-Hwan Choi the copies of applications including a cover letter and a resume including education (with GPA), relevant coursework, research and work experience, publication, TOEFL/GRE scores, research goal and plan, etc. |
