	An Historic Three-Day Inauguration Weekend at Stevens October 13 to 15, 2011, was an historic weekend for Stevens Institute of Technology, ushering in a new era of leadership with the inauguration of Dr. Nariman Farvardin as the seventh president of the university.

Dr. Farvardin's Inauguration Ushers in New Era at Stevens Dr. Farvardin's Inauguration Ceremony took place in a transformed, breathtaking Canavan Arena. The walls were swathed in the Stevens red and gray, a plush carpet covered the floor and the Stevens Orchestra played in the corner.

	U.S. Secretary Chu and Bell Labs President Kim Explore Innovation During Academic Colloquium The Academic Colloquium: Excellence Through Innovation provided a forum for discussion; with innovation as a key driver, the speakers explored the impact of technology in addressing critical issues facing society.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship were on Display at Student Research Colloquium The events of Inauguration began with the Student Research Colloquium. Doctoral students presented while undergraduate students exhibited their achievements of the Summer 2011 programs.

	Guests React to Inauguration Ceremony with Great Pride at Reception After the inauguration ceremony, the heavy rain came—a sign of good luck for the new Stevens president, some said. At Babbio Center, hundreds of people greeted Dr. Farvardin and his family at the reception.

	At Gala, Community Celebrates Dr. Farvardin and Honors Distinguished Alumni A jubilant gathering of the Stevens community, numbering more than 400 alumni, faculty, students and friends of the Institute, turned out for the university's Presidential Inauguration Gala on Saturday to celebrate the installation of Dr. Nariman Farvardin as the seventh president of Stevens.

	Special Announcement: Recent Alum Laura Barito Named NCAA Woman of the Year 2011 Stevens Graduate Laura Barito has been named the NCAA Woman of the Year! We wish her congratulations on this outstanding acomplishment. Laura is a true scholar-athlete.
