Stevens' Systems Development & Maturity Laboratory Receives Grant to Further Systems Lifecycle Management Research
Hoboken, NJ – Professors Brian Sauser, Jose Ramirez-Marquez and David Nowicki from the Systems Development & Maturity Laboratory (SysDML) in the School of Systems & Enterprises at Stevens Institute of Technology have been awarded their seventh grant through the Naval Postgraduate School’s Defense Acquisition Research Program in order to further their research in systems lifecycle management. This funding will allow for the enhancement of fundamental capabilities of assessing system maturity and logistics in order to address some recurring challenges in defense acquisition.
The SysDML strives to produce new research, provide thought leadership and create knowledge in systems management and assessment for optimal development/maturation of a system through its lifecycle. The goal of the SysDML is to develop methods, processes and tools to assist the system design and sustainment communities in making sound decisions at the critical intersection of: Systems Evolution and Lifecycle Management, System Optimization and Modeling, and Business Acumen. As an example of the collaborative success of Sauser, Ramirez-Marquez and Nowicki, last year the SysDML produced 24 journal publications and acquired almost a $1 million in research funding.
