Stevens Institute of Technology Prepares for Hurricane Irene
Hoboken, NJ – The Emergency Response Team at Stevens Institute of Technology is continuously monitoring the approach of Hurricane Irene and has issued several directives to the Stevens community to ensure safety and security in the event of an emergency situation.
Given that the hurricane is expected to impact New Jersey sometime on Sunday, August 28, students returning to the Hoboken campus may be affected as they attempt to move back this weekend. The University has issued a notice to all returning students that they should make every effort to move in on Friday, August 26. If that is not possible, students have been asked to wait until Monday, August 29.
Students who are currently on campus have been urged to limit their travel into and out of Hoboken this weekend.
Members of the Stevens community are encouraged to sign up for the Stevens Emergency Alert system. This system allows the Emergency Response Team to communicate important information via email and text messaging alerts with all members of the community.
