Minimizing the Spread of False Tweets During Disaster Response

Dr. Yasu Sakamoto, Assistant Professor, Howe School

These technologies also facilitate the spreading of false information. My lab is interested in developing effective techniques for making social media more useful during disasters through studying behavior. In this talk, I will report some results from our work on minimizing the spread of false tweets about the Great East Japan Earthquake.
