THE PHYSICS OF WALL STREET
A talk by philosopher and physicist Jim Weatherall.
Wednesday, March 20, 2013, 3-4:30 p.m. Babbio Auditorium.

James Weatherall of the University of California, Irvine will discuss his new book The Physics of Wall Street: A Brief History of Predicting the Unpredictable, which describes the profound influence of physics on economic and financial modeling. Weatherall will ponder whether the limitations of financial models make them too dangerous, or if there are ways to use them effectively--maybe even to help prevent the next crisis.

The Center for Science Writings (CSW) is part of the College of Arts & Letters. All CSW events are free and open to the public. For more information see the CSW website, www.stevens.edu/cal/csw, or contact CSW Director John Horgan, jhorgan@stevens.edu
