Business and Management Lessons from Super Sunday

Using Leadership to Create a Positive Legacy From Major Events

Dr. Rich Petriccione

The big game is an opportunity for the teams on the field to demonstrate their championship caliber, but it’s also a chance to bring meaningful change to the community hosting such a major event. Dr. Rich Petriccione, who served as a senior vice president of the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Committee and president of the NY/NJ Snowflake Youth Foundation, will discuss the leadership, marketing and sponsorship challenges unique to such a huge event, and how he leveraged resources to benefit the host region.

Dr. Petriccione enjoyed a 30-year-career in coaching, athletics, academic and hospital administration, and fundraising, making him a natural fit to direct philanthropy and community relations for the NY/NJ Super Bowl Host Company. Since assuming that role in fall 2011, he has served as chief development officer for the not-for-profit company, as well as founding president of the NY/NJ Snowflake Youth Foundation charity. Petriccione was responsible for communications outreach on community relations matters. He managed volunteers and worked through the Business Connect initiative to create opportunities for female- and minority-owned companies to bid on contracts related to the game.
