The Constitution of Korean Graduate Students Association

Chapter I. ( General Rules )

Article 1. ( Designation )
This association is designated as " Korean Graduate Students Association " (below, abbr. KGSA ).

Article 2. ( Purpose )
The KGSA performs the duties of increasing the activity of Korean graduate students and the fraternity between Korean Gradute students and other foreign graduate students, benefits the endeavor for researches of graduate students, devotes the development of Stevens histitute of Technology, promotes fellowship among the members of KGSA and contributes the development of this organization.

Article 3. ( Location )
The KGSA is located at the Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ.

Chapter II. ( Members )

Article 4. ( Activity & Enterprise )
The KGSA performs the following activities and enterprises by according to Article 2.
1) For increasing the activity of Korean graduate students KGSA should support all the graduate students' meetings which are reasonable.
2) For increasing the endeavor for researches KGSA should have a valuable meeting which is called " Career Symposium and Technical Seminar " every year during the period of March or April.
3) For increasing the fellowship between Korean graduate students and foreign graduate students KGSA should have periodic sports competition which is able to include all graduate students every semester.
4) This organization promotes the fellowship among the members through periodic meetings.

Article 5. ( Members )
The members of KGSA are constituted as the Korean graduate students in Stevens Institute of Technology.

Article 6.( Rights and Duties )
The members of KGSA have the rights to speak, decide, suffrage and have one's electoral eligibility. Also the members should have the necessary duties for the accomplishment of this organization's purposes.

Chapter III. ( Board )

Article 7. ( Organization )
For the performance of this KGSA, KGSA has the following administration committee members and constitutions. The tenure of all staffs is I year.
1) President - one person: President performs and conducts all affairs of KGSA.
2) Vice-President - one(two) person(s) : Vice-President conducts all the activities and enterprises of KGSA, also executes as proxy at the time of accident of president.
3) Secretary - one person: Secretary takes charge of documents and records.
4) Treasurer - one person: Treasurer takes care of financial affairs of KGSA.
5) For the activities and enterprises, the KGSA has the following constitutions.
(1) Career Symposium and Technical Seminar Committee ( CSTS )
(2) Fellowship Conmlittee.

Chapter IV. ( Council )


Article 8. ( Assembly )
The KGSA has the following assembly.
1) Ordinary general meeting is held annually in December and the constitutes are attendants.
2) Extraordinary general meeting can be held by the special request of the president or by the decision of the officer's committee or by the request of more than 1/3 of the members.
3) For Career Symposium and Technical Seminar ( CSTS Administration Committee should have weekly meetings from January first week to Febrary last week to establish the budget to manage the CSTS.

Chapter V. ( Finance )

Article 9. ( Finance )
The finance of KGSA is appropriated by the membership fee and the sponsored budget of GRAB.
Article 10. ( Effectiveness )
The article 9 can have effectiveness after the approval date.

Chapter VI. ( Bylaws )

Article 11.
The KGSA should have the following materials.
1) Constitution.
2) Membership list.
3) Assembly records.
4) Monetary reference.
5) Other necessary subsidiary books.

Article 12.
The KGSA awards those who devote themselves to KGSA. The KGSA should give the congratulatory gifts to all PhD dependents.

Article 13.
This constitution has effectiveness after the approval date.
