The Jacobus Lounge is a public recreational hall for all students to enjoy. There is a big screen HDTV with a VCR. There are two pool tables, a foosball table, & a ping pong table. During the academic year, the DDR Machine is also here. There are also plenty of couches and tables for you to relax or do homework with your friends. Jacobus also offers the cheapest snacks on campus!
The lounge is open seven days a week from 9 am to 3 am during the semester. During finals, we try to keep it open 24/7. During Intersession or Summer, we will post the schedule as per demand.
Yes. However, all events at Jacobus must be open to all students and may not impede any student's ability to use the facility.
No. The pool tables may not be reserved. Due to the limited number of tables, pool is played in a round robin fashion (winner stays on table). Any student may join in at any time.
You may not hold RSO meetings in the lounge. Small meetings for design groups are definitely okay.
Reservations can now be made online via the online reserve page. Afterwards you will recieve an email to confirm the information submitted is correct.
Only to the side TV. The Main TV shall be used for watching TV.
Currently not in effect as side TV is out of order. Majority Rules.
No. Jacobus is not a RSO. It is run through the Office Of Student Life.
NO. The lights and blinds must remain on at all times when the lounge is open. There are NO exceptions.
We have no way of knowing who knows how and who doesn't. Besides, jump shots and masse shots destroy the table surface, no matter how good you are. Therefore, NO one is allowed to do them.
If you would like to work at the lounge and are work-study eligible, please check the employee schedules page to see the available schedules. Then, send us an email with your name and any hours you are available to work.
Yes. Use of Jacobus Lounge is a privilege. Any misconduct or inappropriate behavior may result in temporary or permanent losses of your Jacobus privileges. See the user policies page for more details.
No. There is no posting of ads or flyers in Jacobus for any reason. If you would like to advertise in Jacobus, please let the managers know; we do have a space set aside for advertising.
