Frequently Asked Questions

Why a committee?

In order for Jacobus to become a true student center a lot needs to take place. A student led initiative is needed to lobby for our space, and what we want in it This process requires a lot of coordination between the students, the administration, and the entire community at large in order for everyone's needs to be addressed. Moreso, this needs to be led by students, if Jacobus is to evolve into a student center, the students need to take the initiative. As such, JAB was formed to coordinate the efforts to renovate Jacobus. JAB is now trying to determine the student body's needs. That means every student's needs - to get your voice heard, speak up & email us at jab@stevens.edu

When do you meet, how can I get involved?

We are currently determining our meeting schedule for the upcoming fall. However, any interested member of the Stevens community is always welcome to become involved. Contact us at jab@stevens.edu and we will get back to as soon as we can. When we do determine our meeting schedule for the summer it will be posted here.

How will I be affected?

A student center should be the center of campus life. No matter how involved you are a student center needs to meet your needs and wants. Any changes that are coming to Jacobus should be student driven, but what they are, is up to you. Make this building your own.

Why me, why now?

Well let's face it, if you're reading this you're either interested or have ideas. That's what we're looking for. At some point in the near future, JAB needs to start devolving a long term plan, and we need your input. So contact us now - jab@stevens.edu

When are we going to see changes?

All good things take time. But that time for Jacobus is fast approaching. An exact timetable is dependent on the scope of work undertaken. This could be as long as a couple of years for major work, however little things, are being done now.
