VPN on Android 4.X - Tunnel all Traffic
Who can use this?
You must have a Windows Campus domain login to use the VPN server.
All Staff, faculty and undergraduates students have a Windows Campus domain account automatically created. Graduate students must request that an account be created. Please refer to the Campus Domain Account page for instruction on how to automatically request an account.
You cannot connect to the VPN from on-campus.
- This documentation assumes you are running Android OS 4.0 or higher. This documentation has been tested on the Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Nexus, and Nexus 7.
Configuration Instructions for Tunneling All Traffic on Android 4.X
Step 1: Open Settings
Tap the 'Settings' Icon in your app tray.
Then tap the word 'More' Under the Wireless and Networks heading.
From here tap 'VPN'.
You may get a warning about needing to set a lock screen PIN or password. Select OK to continue.
Select your desired type of security and set it up.
Step 2: Create a new VPN Configuration
Tap the ""+"" sign to add a new VPN connection.
For the Name type in Stevens VPN. The Type should be L2TP/IPSec PSK. The server address should be vpn.stevens.edu L2TP secret and IPSec Identifier should be left as (not used). the ITSec Pre-shared key should be set to SITvpn
Finally tap save in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.
Step 3: Connect to the VPN
When you are sent back to the VPN configuration screen you can select the VPN you would like to use.
Tap "Stevens VPN" then enter your username and password.
