Google at Stevens on Mac Mail

These are the steps necessary to set up Email from Google at Stevens in Mac Mail
Step 1 - Open Mac Mail Account Settings
- With Mac Mail open click the File menu
- Choose Add Account
Step 2 - Add New Account
- On the add account window enter your Google at Stevens email credentials
- Make sure you enter your full stevens email address including @stevens.edu
- Click Continue
- If you receive the following certificate verification, choose Connect
Step 3 - Configure Incoming Mail Server
Fill out the information requested by the form:
- Account Type: IMAP
- Description: How the account will appear in Mac Mail, for example: My Stevens Gmail
- Incoming Server: imap.gmail.com (select both check boxes and enter port 993)
- User Name: Your Google at Stevens username (with @stevens.edu)
- Password: Your Google at Stevens password
- Click Continue
- Leave the Incoming Mail Security settings as the default values and click Continue
Step 4 - Configure Outgoing Mail Server
Fill out the information requested by the form:
- Description: How the account will appear in Mac Mail, for example: My Stevens Gmail
- Outgoing Server: smtp.gmail.com (select both check boxes and enter port 587)
- User Name: Your Google at Stevens username (with @stevens.edu)
- Password: Your Google at Stevens password
- Click Continue
- Leave the Outgoing Mail Security settings as the default values and click Continue
Step 5 - Create the Account
- Verify your account information and click Create to add the account the Mac Mail
Step 6 - Edit Advanced Settings
- While Mac Mail is in use: Choose Mail menu in the top left of the screen, and then choose Preferences
- Look for the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), and click it
- Choose Edit SMTP Server List
- Choose Advanced
- Change the server port to 587
- Click OK
- Your Google at Stevens account should be ready to use
