|Mission and Vision |
The mission of iNets is to exploit the considerable capabilities of contemporary and future micro-electronics hardware, software, and analysis technologies to embed intelligence at all levels of networked systems to provide the systems and their components with “the ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend complex ideas, learn quickly and learn from experience”.
Quote from: Linda S. Gottfredson, “Mainstream Science on Intelligence: An Editorial With 52 Signatories, History, and Bibliography,” Intelligence, 24 (1), pp. 13-23, 1997, Ablex Publishing Corp.
iNets will provide an internationally recognized, university-based research center integrating faculty researchers and professional experts (iNetS Fellows), working in concert with industry and military partners, to advance the principles and practices of embedding intelligence into networked systems to achieve interoperability, reliability, security, rapid deployment and other needs.
