Procedure For Position Control - Faculty And Staff:
- At the time that approval is requested to hire for a particular position, please provide:
- A completed Personnel Requisition (top section of the Payroll Notice). A signed notice represents departmental confirmation of sufficient budget availability.
- Explain why the position is needed.
- This material must be submitted to Mark Samolewicz in Human Resources at least two (2) weeks in advance of the requested posting period. Human Resources will assess each request and supporting information and discuss any proposed changes. After budget review, we will notify the department of approval or rejection. After approval, Human Resources will post the posting and will be available to discuss advertising and search strategies with the requesting department and will also discuss any questions. Kindly note that this process pertains to both faculty and staff positions.
- Please note that departments are not authorized to initiate discussions that would be terminated in the event a position is not approved for hiring. All discussions with candidates can only take place after a posting and with the coordination of Human Resources.
- Renewal of Positions - the approval described above are required
- All staff appointment letters are to be issued by the Office of Human Resources.
- Faculty appointment letters are to be co-signed by the Dean and the Office of Human Resources.
