The Office of Graduate Admissions at Stevens Institute of Technology sees an energetic and detailed oriented individual who is a team player to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include the following: train and manage multiple graduate assistants and temporary workers; process inquiries, applications, and standardized test scores; manage the online application utility; speak with prospective students about the application process; order supplies; communicate with applicants regarding requirements for application materials; process enrollment forms for non-matriculating students assist in the coordination and execution of open houses, execute communication campaigns such as mailing; utilize imaging system to scan application materials and place them in their appropriate folders; maintain inventory of admissions materials; assist the international student advisor. Position: Senior Network Technician
Department: Information Technology
Network administration for a network composed predominantly of Cisco network products; performing performance analysis, installing, optimizing, and troubleshooting network devices; monitoring network device to provide stable, secure, dependable network communication on both the wired and wireless network. Interface with the Information Technology Help Desk and Systems personnel to resolve network related problems. Other tasks include 2nd tier support of video conferencing equipment, and LCD projectors where installed in our high tech classrooms. Some supervision of student workers.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or related field; excellent verbal and written communication skills; in-depth experience with Cisco routers and switches; knowledge of: Visio, Unix shell, Linux package installation, sql, perl; the ability to climb ladders for placement of access points or adjustment of over head LCD projectors.

Overseeing and managing a select group of employers participating in the On-Campus Recruitment Program for both full-time hiring and summer internships.
Visiting and evaluating students at their summer internship worksites.
Managing employer accounts by communicating with contacts regarding on-campus events, i.e. career fairs, recruitment, and customizing logistics and payment solutions when needed.
Working with the Director on employer development activities.
Scheduling, monitoring, and staffing employer information sessions.
Assisting in the planning and the production of advertising for department events.
Maintaining a professional level of conduct, appearance, and attire at all times.
Education/Experience: A bachelor’s degree is required, a master’s degree preferred. Experience working with college students is not required, but especially valued.
Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Stevens Technical Enrichment Program (STEP) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Assistant Director. STEP provides a wide range of support services to the undergraduate students within the program. The program serves primarily, but not exclusively, students of color, and students who meet the eligibility requirements of the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) program – a state funded financial aid program. STEP’s overarching goals are to offer activities which help the students achieve their academic goals, retain them at Stevens, and enhance the overall quality of their campus experience.
Responsibilities The Assistant Director will provide leadership and strategic vision, serve as the primary counselor to the program’s participants, coordinate a comprehensive tutoring program, and put in place an innovative calendar of programs and activities to facilitate the students’ transition, retention, and graduation. The successful candidate also will perform student assessments, coordinate and/or present developmental workshops, attend select recruitment events, and assist with the management of the summer program, and timely completion of reports. He/she will recommend new initiatives, contribute to budget forecasting, and assist with overall department operations. Additionally the position will require some evening and weekend hours.
Qualifications Minimum qualifications REQUIRED include a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years related experience. Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to multitask effectively and work independently, professionalism, creativity, and the capability to interact well with students, administrators and others are also required.

Position: Area Coordinator

The Area Coordinator (AC) is a live-in, staff position in the Office of Residence Life. The AC will plan, organize and direct staff and community development, staffing functions and administrative details. The AC directly supervises para-professional staff members - resident assistants (RAs). There AC may also supervise a Graduate Assistant Area Coordinator. The AC receives direct supervision from the Assistant Directors (AD) of Residence Life.

Student/Community Development
1. Assists in the management of student behavior through judicial sanctioning or advising.
2. Assists staff and residents in establishing a positive atmosphere and encouraging behavior that ensures relative freedom, quiet, privacy, security and a sense of unity in the residence halls.
3. Coordinates and supports hall/area/community efforts through programming.
4. Works in collaboration with Residence Life, Campus Police, Physical Plant/Custodial staff, Dining Services and Student Life.
Staffing Functions
1. Supervise (1) Graduate Assistant Area Coordinator (If the position is staffed), (12-14) Resident Assistants (RA) including staff meetings, individual meetings, bi-annual evaluations, etc.
2. Contributes to and encourages the development of positive working relationships between all residence life staff.
3. Coordinate ONE of the following committees: RA/RC staff selection committee, Staff training, development and in-service committee, and Alcohol Awareness Committee.
4. Facilitate RA Programming efforts - including approving ideas, allocating funds, and tracking all programs.
5. Assist in Fall & Spring training, Resident Assistants/Resident Coordinators selection process.
6. Area Coordinators are part of a rotating 24/7/365 emergency and student assistance team. As a member of this team the Area Coordinators respond to university-wide incidents involving students, visitors, facilities and campus safety.

Position: Senior Budget Analyst

The Senior Budget Analyst is a senior staff position within the Finance Department. This position will be reporting directly to the Budget Director. This person will be responsible for helping develop and maintain a long range budget plan, preparing monthly reports for the Provost, the CFO and the deans, vice presidents and department heads, and maintaining a database of existing commitments. The position is also responsible for projecting and monitoring the budgetary impact of new initiatives, and for the annual budget submission process, preparing departmental budget packages and monitoring and reconciling submissions. The Senior Budget Analyst is responsible for performing special projects focused on accounting, budget management and various analyses under the direction and supervision of the Budget Director.
This position operates under significant deadlines; the Senior Budget Analyst must be well organized and capable of handling heavy workloads. Requires extensive experience in data mining and analysis in dynamic organizations, preferably including exposure to higher education. The goal of the research program is to study the reaction mechanism at nanoscale with a combination of kinetic measurements, spectroscopy and DFT calculations. Familiarity with F-T is highly preferred. This Center requires a RESEARCH ADMINISTRATOR to be responsible for the administration of contracts and all post award matters related to SERC sponsored projects. The Administrator will work with the Office of Sponsored Research to terminate and close out awards, generate monthly invoices and reports, reconcile each account on a monthly basis, monitor preparation of reports on property, patents and expenditures, and obtain instructions and disposition of overruns. S/he will advise and consult with appropriate Institute personnel on preparation of proposals, budgets, cost sharing, and faculty effort. The SDOE Program Associate Administrator is responsible for day-to-day operation of the SDOE program and provides significant assistance to the SDOE Program Manager in program logistics, instructor interface, and SDOE student care.
Specific Responsibilities include the following as related to the day-to-day operation and coordination of SDOE program:
• Coordination of university activities with other functions and offices (Registrar’s, Graduate Admissions, Student Service Center, IT etc)
• Serve as student single point of contact, providing timely and effective graduate student care
• Post-Course Management: Ensure timely and effective Student enrollment, maintain evaluation reports for SDOE classes
• Assistance in maintaining SDOE operational processes and the continuous process improvement required to maintain strong customer/client satisfaction.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Education: An undergraduate degree is preferred.
Experience: 2-5 years of experience in graduate program management and coordination is preferred. 1-2 years of experience in customer communication is required. Any experience in the management and/or coordination of geographically dispersed programs or like endeavors is a plus.
Other Skills: The ability to professionally interact and communicate with external clients and contacts, multitask, and work to aggressive deadlines is of great importance. Strong written and verbal communications skills and use of MS Office Suite tools are required. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively contribute as part of a team is required.

Stevens Institute of Technology seeks a creative Web designer to take the lead in transforming the university admissions’ online recruitment initiatives. Qualified candidate will use superior design skills to increase lead generation and yield via intuitive, rewarding user experiences. The Web Designer will work with administration, marketing staff, and IT professionals to design Web sites, implement online marketing tools, and shape marketing strategy.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with IT department to develop and launch new enrollment Web sites in content management system
Design and implement campaign-specific landing pages
Develop brand-relevant, forwarding-thinking, and consistent visual design elements for divisional Web sites
Create dynamic and interactive Web content (e.g., Flash elements, interactive maps, virtual tours, videos, and podcasts)
Design compelling HTML e-mail templates
Continually maintain and improve existing divisional Web sites
Apply best practices, usability, and accessibility standards to all sites
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
3-5 years experience in Web design or online marketing environment (higher education experience preferred, but not required)
Excellent visual design skills, including layout, graphics, typography, and color palettes
Demonstrated experience designing Web sites using CSS, Cold Fusion, HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, PHP, Web standards-based design
Strong problem solving, personal communication, time management, and critical thinking skills

Description: Stevens Institute of Technology seeks to fill a newly created position of Staff Research Scientist for its Laboratory for Multiscale Imaging (LMSI). The LMSI is a 3000 sq. ft. laboratory housing an analytical FEG TEM/STEM, a FEG SEM, a confocal microscope, and an AFM, among other instrumentation. More information can be found at:

The LMSI serves a growing community of research students and staff from Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, and Chemical Biology, among others, as well as a range of academic and industrial users from off-campus. Current research themes include soft materials, cell-material interactions, biofilms, self assembly, patterning, and nanostructured particulate/surfaces. In addition to pursuing collaborative research, the LMSI Staff Scientist will oversee all aspects of running the LMSI including training, maintenance, research execution, and educational outreach. He/she will participate in the development of new LMSI initiatives in concert with an interdisciplinary LMSI Advisory Board and the LMSI Director, Prof. Matthew Libera.
The initial appointment will be for two years.
Qualified candidates will hold a PhD or equivalent degree in either a physical science/engineering or a life-science discipline. They will also be proficient in the use and application of transmission electron microscopy. Previous experience with confocal or scanned-probe imaging will be helpful.
