Master of Technology Management for Experienced Professionals (EMTM)

The Stevens Masters in Technology Management for Experienced Professionals (EMTM) is a 43-credit degree program designed for experienced professionals having over 5 years of work experience who are motivated to become transformational business leaders in technology and management. Students gain cutting-edge knowledge in product and process innovation, entrepreneurship and strategic project management and learn how to lead in today’s progressive, competitive business world.
Graduates gain the skills to understand and leverage today’s rapidly changing technological landscape to solve challenging business problems, position technology effectively to reach business goals and lead innovation across organizations.

ABOUT THE CURRICULUM
The EMTM program is specifically designed for experienced professionals wishing to move to a broader role in management at the intersection of technology and business. The EMTM program focuses on the effective management and use of technology in technology-intensive businesses. It integrates business and technology topics focused on educating participants to manage technology creatively in order to enhance business competitiveness in a global business environment. Orientation is given in general business skills, such as finance and marketing, with emphasis being placed on development of technology management skills encompassing technology strategy, emerging technology and corporate entrepreneurship to assure alignment of technology development with business strategy.
DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
EMTM is a 43-credit degree program that consists of twelve courses that are completed in six trimesters. The courses are supplemented by ramp courses, workshops, and practicums utilizing business simulation tools that reinforce classroom concepts, while providing students with experience in running a high-tech company.

DELIVERY OPTIONS
Courses are scheduled on alternate Saturdays on the Stevens campus. In the final semester, the capstone course involves 5 consecutive Saturday sessions on the Stevens campus. Students complete their EMTM degree in 21 months. Classes meet from 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. in the Babbio Center for Technology Management.
The 21-month EMTM program is the flagship management program at Stevens for experienced professionals, providing a combination of business and technology management skills that prepare you for leadership in the rapidly evolving technology sector. The program has many unique advantages that distinguish it from other programs of this type.

Curriculum
The nationally recognized, award winning EMTM program combines courses in technology and business management in a career-enhancing, integrated educational experience. The curriculum delivers a unique combination of academic knowledge and hands on application enabling you to immediately implement classroom principles in the work place.
The EMBA-TM program curriculum consists of the same courses that comprise the EMTM program, but includes an additional five courses designed to broaden and strengthen competence in functional business management. Students normally enroll first in the EMTM program, followed by the five-course extension program leading to the MBA-TM degree.

As a working professional, we know you want to enhance your skills without disrupting your career. That is why the instructor-led, EMTM/EMBA program takes place at the weekends on alternate Saturdays. Classes are held in the Babbio Center for Technology Management on the Stevens Campus in Hoboken. This option means no disruption of your weekday work schedule while leaving time for personal commitments on alternate weekends.
