Dr. Mahmoud Daneshmand
Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery
Mahmoud Daneshmand is a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff (DMTS) at the AT&T Labs-Research, and Assistant Chief Scientist of the AT&T Labs; Professor at Howe School of Technology Management and Department of Computer Science, Stevens Institute of Technology. He has more than 35 years of teaching, research & publications, and management experience in academia and industry including Bell Laboratories, AT&T Labs, University of California at Berkeley, University of Texas at Austin, Sharif University of Technology, University of Tehran, New York University, and Stevens Institute of Technology. His current areas of teaching & research are Data Mining, Statistics, Machine Learning, Probability and Stochastic Processes. Applications include: Network Data, Mobility Data, Sensor and RFID Data, Social Networks, and Streaming Data. He has a PhD and MS in Statistics from the University of California, Berkeley, and MS and BS in Mathematics from the University of Tehran. He has published more than 80 journal and conference papers; authored/co-authored three books; Holds two patents; Served as Guest Editor of several IEEE Journals; Gave many keynote and invited talks on Data Mining and IEEE conferences; Served as general chair of conferences; Supervised more than 100 data mining projects of Graduate Students; Served at dissertation committee of many PhD and MS students; Developed and taught graduate and undergraduate courses.
