Systems Modeling and Simulation

Classical methodology and techniques, with emphasis on discrete systems modeling and simulation; contrasting examples from system analysis, synthesis and hypothesis studies. Students will be required to submit a term project that implements, discusses and evaluates a discrete simulation model in a major simulation language such as SLAM II, GPSS, Etc. Major course topics include: analysis of queues, arrival and service patterns, random number generation, model verification and validation, simulation programming techniques, enhancement of simulation by hypermedia, artificial intelligence, virtual reality and object-oriented methodologies.
