Human Resources Processes: Techniques and Applications

This course first introduces students to the theory, practices and techniques for analyzing and describing the nature of work and individual jobs in organizations. It then focuses on how this information is applied to develop other human resources systems such as selection, job design, training and compensation. From job analysis, a fundamental building block for virtually all human resources practices to the development and implementation of performance appraisal systems, the course emphasizes how the techniques used in human resource research and practice influence design, motivation and organizational effectiveness.
