Technology and Media: Surveying the Landscape in the Electronic Age
This is a survey course that examines the landscape of opportunity for delivering messages through media using new technology. The primary objective of this course is to provide students with a deeper understanding of contemporary media and how technology has enabled that media to reach targeted populations through multiple touch points. The class introduces a variety of methods for stimulating actions and changes, for presenting visions of the future, and for engaging multiple media in the process. In particular, students will gain understanding of technology-driven media and how they can engage, coerce and manipulate the mindset of customer-categorized markets.
