How We Do it

Families love to spend time with each other, which is how they strengthen their bonds. It is not always business here at FAST. People in FAST love to sit around to cook and eat food, watch their favorite movies, and play games and sports. Below are a list of FAST events where you can meet new family memebers or strengthen your relationship with your other ones. An official Stevens event or not, you should enjoy your time here, so there events all year around. Check out some of the upcoming events on the calendar.

UNITY

Even though this event is hosted by the Ethnic Student Council (ESC) and all the ethnic RSOs participate in it, it is one of FAST's biggest events. From late night practices to final performance, this is the event that brings everyone together. You do not have to be a professional dancer to be part of the performance. Everyone is welcome. You can dance, act, tinkle, and learn more about Filipino culture. Everyone will bond hroughout the entire experience, and this, in the end, makes FAST more like a family.

Winter Semi-Formal

This social will help promote awareness and interaction in a semi-formal environment. Traditional cuisine is served, and entertainment will be provided by a professional DJ. The event mimics the Filipino tradition known as the Cotillon, which is similar to a Sweet 16. So come to this event to dance, eat, and laugh!

Dancing with the Staff

Have you seen "Dancing with the Stars"? Now, mix that with the same people that teach or work on staff here at Stevens and you have "Dancing with the Staff." See your lab teacher or staff from ResLife take it to the dance floor and vote on the best dancer. Enjoy the varitey of ballroom dance including salsa, swing, and waltz with a little spice of the Stevens body.

Karaoke Night

"Magic Mic" is a popular platform for kararoke in the Philippines. This event is for a fun, relaxing evening for members of FAST to get together on campus and enjoy karaoking with the "Magic Mic."

Games Night

Want to play some games? Card, billiards, board games, you name it!! You can enjoy it all here among your family and friends. Take a breather, relax, and play that game of Taboo. There's so much too choose from.

I Survived a Filipino Game Show

It's like a Japanese Game Show, BUT WITH FILIPINOS!! That's the idea of this event. It's a combination of a typical Japanese contest that you see on TV and a splash of Filipino culture. So be prepared to jump through sitcks, eat things that you never knew existed (if you are not Filipino that is), and have fun while completely olbiterating the other team. Well, not completely, it's a friendly competition.

Barrios Fiesta & Cooking Night

From Lechon to BBQ sticks, there's food to fatten you up. So come and eat. Enjoy it with your fellow colleagues, and have food coma afterwards.

FAST Family Specific Events

Each family also holds events on their own. They are not official FAST events. They are more for hanging out. Going to a restaurant together or play basketball at the Schaffuer Gym. You also could have study groups, but no one does that these days.

You will find out which family that you are in at Karoake Night.
