In May 2006, six Stevens students visited several regions in the Dominican Republic to assess projects and collect data for their Senior Design project. These students are all members of the EWB-SIT chapter. Several projects were identified as potential EWB projects.

In the Fall of 2007, a group of 5 Mechanical Engineers completed a conceptual research project for a Water Purification System.

In the Spring of 2008, a team of Chemical Engineers will continue research begun in Spring 2007 to find an efficient source of biomass for ethanol production.

In March 2007, the team of 5 Stevens students revisited the Dominican Republic to conduct further research for the design and implementation of a Hydro-Electric Generator.
