Kate Abel, Lecturer, Ph.D., (2001) Stevens Institute of Technology: serves as the Program Director for the Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering Management Program. She teaches courses in Engineering Management, Engineering Economics and Senior Design.

Anthony Barrese, Industry Professor, PhD.,(1978) Stevens Institute of Technology, came to Stevens from NCR where he was Vice President & General Manager of the Teradata Industry Application Division and the Network Products Division. He has had thirty-five years of Coprorate planning, systems engineering and architecture, product management, product development, manufacturing and quality management experience at Bell Laboratories, AT&T and NCR. He teaches courses in System Engineering and Architecture and serves as Quality Director for the SDOE Program

Howard Berline, Senior Lecturer, Ed.M., (1968) University of Illinois: came to Stevens from McGraw Hill and private industry. He serves as Co-Director of the Schacht Management Laboratory. He teaches Engineering Cost Estimation and Engineering Economics.

John V. Farr, Professor, Ph.D., P.E., (1986) University of Michigan: is Director of the Department of Systems Engineering and Engineering Management. Previously, he was Director of Engineering Management Program at the United States Military Academy. He teaches Engineering Economics and Statistics for Engineers.

George Hudak, Distinguished Service Associate Professor, M.S. (1995), Stevens Institute of Technology: came to Stevens from AT&T Laboratories (formerly AT&T Bell Laboratories). He formerly served as Director for the Integrated Product Development Program. He is the instructor for Statistical Quality Control and a wide variety of Systems Engineering Courses.

Wei Jiang, Assistant Professor, Ph.D., I.E. & E.M. (2000) came to Stevens from AT&T Laboratories where he was working on data mining and forecasting techniques for business and marketing. He teaches courses in Data Mining and Forecasting and Demand Modeling Systems.

Donald N. Merino, Professor, Ph.D., P.E., (1975) Stevens Institute of Technology: was responsible for establishing the Engineering Management program at Stevens. He serves as Director of the Executive Masters Degree in Technology Management. He is the instructor for Engineering Economics and a wide variety of Quality Management courses.

William Miller is an Industry Professor in the SDOE program at Stevens Institute of Technology. Formerly he worked at Bell Laboratories, as a member of the Technical Staff on the concept formulation, development, introduction and operational improvement of commerical telecommunications services and then as the Systems Engineering Manager. He holds B.S and M.S degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University

David R. Nowicki, Director of Value Chain Enterprise Program and Research Assistant Professor, PH.D., University of Wisconsin: came to Stevens from Servigistics, where he was Director of Product Development in Service Life-cycle Management. He held various executive positions at i2 Technologies and the TFD Group in Product Development, Technology, and Consulting. His Current research involves supply chain management, performance based logistics, reliability and multi-asset optimization . He earned a bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering Operations Research from the University of Wisconsin as well as a master's degree in Industrial Engineering Operations Research from Virginia Tech.

Brian Sauser, Assistant Professor, PhD (2005), Stevens Institute of Technology and Director of Systems Engineering Management : Came to Stevens from ASRC Aerospace at NASA Kennedy Space Center. He has worked in government, industry, and academia for more than 10 years as both a researcher/engineer and director of programs related to space science research. His research interests are in project management of complex systems.

 

 

Leon Bazil, Visiting Associate Professor, Ph.D., D.Sc., (1984), St. Petesburg Tech: came to Stevens from the University at St. Petersburg, Russia where he was the Chair of the Cybernetics Department. He also was a Professor at US International University (Europe), London. He teaches Elements of Operation Research and Production and Operations Management.

John T.  Boardman, Distinguished Service Professor; Ph.D., (1970), University of Liverpool, UK; came to Stevens from De Montfort University, UK where he was Professor of Systems Engineering (since 1995). Before that he was first GEC Marconi Professor of Systems Engineering and Director of the School of Systems Engineering, and then Dean of the College of Technology, at the University of Portsmouth.

Robert Cloutier has over 20 years experience in Systems Engineering, software engineering and project management in both commercial and defense industries. Rob received his Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology, and also holds and M.B.A from Eastern College and a B.S. from the United States Naval Academy.

Rick Dove is Industry Professor at Stevens Institute of Technology. He is co-director of the Agile Systems and Enterprises graduate certificte of the SDOE program. He has a BSEE from Carnegie Mellon University and did graduate work toward a PhD in Computer Science at UC Berkeley.

Eirik Hole, Lecturer, MSc (1995) University of Stuttgart, Germany; came to Stevens from HOOD Consulting in Munich, Germany where he was implementing Systems Engineering and Requirement Management methodology and tools, mainly in the automotive industry. Before that he was a Systems Engineer in the aerospace and defense industry.

Rashmi Jain, Associate Professor came to Stevens from Accenture (formerly known as Andersen Consulting) where she was involved in leading the implementation of large and complex systems integration projects in various stages of the life cycle of information technology (IT) projects. These include business requirements, systems requirements, high-level design, detailed designs, development, testing, prototyping and production.

Jose E. Ramirez-Marquez, Assistant Professor,Ph.D(2004) Rutgers University : came to Stevens from Rutgers University where he was involved in research focused on developing methods for optimizing system performance. He has also worked on modeling complex systems that have numerous performance levels.

Roshanak Nilchiani comes from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she engaged in research on flexible space systems and complex engineering systems design and operation under uncertainty. Dr. Nilchiani has collaborated with various research groups on the next generation Mars Rovers and nuclear-powered Mars missions and has consulted for 4 Frontiers, a private commercial space exploration company

Michael C. Pennotti, Industry Professor, Ph.D. (1974) Polytechnic Institute of New York: came to Stevens from Avaya, where he was Vice President, Quality. Prior experience includes thirty years of systems engineering and business leadership at Bell Labs, AT&T, and Lucent Technologies. He is Director of  the SDOE Program and teaches courses in Systems Engineering and Systems Architecture.

Art Pyster is a Distinguished Research Professor at Stevens Institue of Technology and the Stevens Director of the Applied Systems Thinking Institute (ASysT). During his more than 30-year career, Dr .Pyster has served in a number of executive and technical positions. Most recently, he was the Senior Vice President and Director of Systems Engineering and Integration for SAIC. Previously, Dr. Pyster was the Deputy Chief Information Officer at the Federal Aviation Administration, Chief Technical Officer at the Software Productivity Consortium, director at Digital Sound Corporation, manager of Systems Engineering at TRW, and an Assistan Professor of Computer Science at the University of California at Santa Barbara.

Alice Squires Associate Director, SDOE Program(Online). Graduated summa cum laude with Bachelor of Science of Electrical Engineering (BSEE) at University of Maryland in 1984 and Masters of Business Administration at George Mason University in 1996. She has worked directly for large defense companies including IBM, Lockheed Martin and General Dynamic and later consulted for these companies

Dinesh Verma, Associate Dean and Professor, Ph.D., (1994), Virginia Tech: came to Stevens from Lockheed Martin Naval Electronics and Surveillance Systems where he was Systems and Supportability Engineering Strategist. He serves as Director of the Systems Design and Operational Effectiveness program and is the department's research coordinator. He teaches graduate classes in systems design, architecture, reliability, life cycle analysis and maintainability.
