Stevens Institute of Technology and Defense Acquisition University Form Strategic Partnership

The System Design and Operational Effectiveness (SDOE) Program at Stevens Institute has launched a new Graduate Certificate Program in Value Chain Enterprise Systems.

2001 Faculty Attend EM Department Heads Meeting
Drs. Mihalasky, Merino, and Farr attended a meeting of Engineering Management Program Directors and Department Heads in Nashville in April, 2001. Under the auspices of the American Society of Engineering Management such important issues as graduate certification and ABET accreditation were discussed at the day long meeting.

Stevens Doctoral Awards
Announcing Mr. Vassilis Agouridas, School of Mechanical Engineering, University of Leeds, UK, as the First Annual Stevens Doctoral Award Recepient for Promising Research in Systems Engineering and Integration in Cooperation with the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE).

Farr receives National Award from ASEE
Dr. John Farr was awarded the Merl Baker Award by the Engineering Management Division of the American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE) at the 2004 annual conference. The award is presented annually in recognition of contributions in the engineering management education arena

Pennotti assumes the position of Director of the SDOE Program
Effective September 1, 2004 Dr. Michael Pennotti will assume the position of Director of the Systems Design and Operational Effectiveness (SDOE) Program. Dr. Pennotti will assume the role of Director of this nationally renowned program from Dr. Dinesh Verma. Dr. Verma served as founder and the first director of the program since it’s inception in April 2000

ASEM elects Farr as 2002 President
Dr. John V. Farr, Professor and Director of the SEEM department, was elected to the position of President Elect of the American Society of Engineering Mangement(ASEM) for 2002. He will assume the office of President at the annual conference in Tampa, Florida, in Novemebr of 2002. The ASEM exists to assist its members in developing and improving their skills as practicing managers of engineering and technology and to promote the profession of engineering management. With a national membership of about 1000 engineers, the organzation serves as the primary professional society for engineering and technology managers
