The President's Initiative for Excellence
The President's Initiative for Excellence is President Nariman Farvardin's $30 million initiative, announced his first day in office (July 1, 2011) to enhance his stated four top priorities at the Institute: scholarship support, faculty development, infrastructure development and creation of a public lecture series.
Addressing these priorities will be critical to the execution of the newly approved Stevens Strategic Plan, The Future. Ours to Create., which charts a course of growth and expansion into exciting new areas over the next decade at Stevens.
The first full year of the Initiative was extremely successful, with more than $13.7 million contributed by generous alumni and friends toward Initiative needs and priorities during fiscal year 2012. The second year, FY 2013, saw even greater giving toward the initiative: $16.3 million. The Initiative was thus completely funded by July 1, 2013 — more than one year ahead of schedule.
Thanks in part to this support, Stevens is on the rise: Stevens has risen significantly in national rankings of educational quality, from #88 to #75 in U.S. News & World Report's annual "Best Colleges" survey.

The Stevens Fund is part of a long-standing tradition that invites alumni, parents, friends, faculty members and staff to actively invest in the future of Stevens Institute of Technology by contributing flexible funds for opportunities and initiatives that enrich the University.
On April 6, Stevens celebrated the accomplishments of 13 remarkable individuals at the inaugural Stevens Awards Gala in midtown Manhattan.
Providing financial aid through scholarships is a core commitment of Stevens. The ability to increase the financial aid packages that we offer to students and their families is due to the generosity of our alumni and friends who graciously fund endowed and fellowship scholarships every year.
