Make an IMPACT

through Dedication

Michael Trapani
Senior, Class of 2008
BioMedical Engineering Major

For Michael Trapani, choosing Stevens was all about dedication and desire. During high school, Michael developed a passion for engineering. On the advice of a co-worker at Rampulla Associates Architects, where he was working part-time after school, Michael took a serious look at Stevens. Once he was accepted, the decision to attend was an easy one to make.

Michael’s desire to pursue an engineering degree at Stevens was realized through the financial assistance provided by scholarships and other aid.

Michael says, “The majority of students I know are just like me. They’ve known they wanted to be in a certain field for years and are committed to being successful. The only way we can be successful, though, is to have a quality education that Stevens provides.” This kind of education is possible in part through annual gifts from those who truly care about excellence in education.

“Whether I’m working as a telethon caller or meeting alumni at events, I am always impressed with the dedication of Stevens alumni. They understand what it means to be a student here, and they haven’t forgotten what it takes to graduate with a Stevens degree. They care, and it shows in their support,” says Michael.

Your annual support has an impact on Stevens. It maintains the traditions of excellence, strengthening the university’s reputation and provides students present and future with the best opportunities for success.

When you consider a gift to the Stevens Fund, please keep students like Michael Trapani in mind, and be as generous as you can.

Annmarie Rizzo
Class of 1986
Director of Network Operations, Verison

Annmarie Rizzo’s story is like that of many Stevens grads.

Born and raised by hardworking parents in Hoboken, N.J., Annmarie was familiar with the prestige of a Stevens education. She grew up with a love of math and science and wanted to pursue an engineering degree, but she wasn’t sure she could afford to attend Stevens.

“Were it not for financial assistance, my dreams would never have been realized,” Annmarie says. “I was able to go to Stevens because so many alumni know the importance of supporting the educational structure that Stevens provides.”

Now an executive with Verizon, Annmarie credits her career and success to the Stevens experience. “The foundation of discipline and problem-solving skills that a Stevens education provides sets us apart from most other institutions. With a Stevens degree, you can do anything,” she concludes.

This is why Annmarie has made the decision to give back. “I support the Stevens Fund because it’s the way for my annual giving to have the broadest impact,” she says.

When you consider a gift to the Stevens Fund, keep in mind how you have benefited from your Stevens education. Someone else’s education and success might be riding on your decision, so please give, and be as generous as you can.

Beatrice Wilson
Junior, Class of 2009
Computer Engineering Major

From the moment she first set foot on Castle Point, Bea Wilson knew Stevens was the place for her. Community and opportunity drew her to Stevens and have shaped her academic experiences as well as her future goals.

“The people make Stevens what it is,” Bea says. “The support you get here is like that of a family. The friendships I’ve grown have been invaluable to me. Whether it’s my fencing teammates or my sorority sisters or even a lab partner, everyone helps each other in some way or another. I’m proud to be a member of this community.”

With her sights set on a career as an entrepreneur, Bea knows she must take advantage of every opportunity available to her at Stevens. “Having access to the latest and greatest equipment, facilities, labs and instruction is what it all boils down to. That’s where Stevens excels,” she says.

“I knew the campus didn’t run by magic, but it wasn’t until I became involved as a telethon caller that it all clicked for me,” Bea says. “Annual support is what keeps Stevens going, and it’s what provides students like me the tools and facilities we need to achieve our personal and professional goals.”

Your annual support has an impact on Stevens. It keeps the campus community strong, provides the best possible environment and facilities for learning and ensures that generations of students have opportunities for success.

When you consider a gift to the Stevens Fund, please keep students like Bea Wilson in mind, and be as generous as you can.
