Jim Richberg currently serves as Assistant Deputy Director of National Intelligence for cyber issues (ADDNI/Cyber). In addition to serving as the intelligence community’s mission manager for cyber issues, his office monitors and coordinates implementation of the Comprehensive National Cybersecurity Initiative (CNCI) on behalf of the DNI and the Executive Office of the President. Mr. Richberg was one of the architects of the CNCI, which is a phased approach to improving the ability of the United States to secure and defend its national and economic security interests against the full spectrum of cyber threats.
Prior to joining the team developing the CNCI in May 2007, Mr. Richberg held various senior leadership positions in the DNI’s Office of National Counterintelligence Executive and spent 20 years as a CIA officer, Mr. Richberg attended graduate school at M.I.T., Harvard, and Stanford University. He minored in astronomy and in his spare time builds and uses some of the largest amateur telescopes on the East Coast.
