The Honorable James B. Peake, M.D. was appointed Senior Vice-President, CGI Federal responsible for the overarching US and European strategy for CGI's evolving Health and Health Insurance industries. Dr. Peake had a thirty eight year career in the Army, initially as an infantry officer, and then as a physician and surgeon culminating in service as the 40th Surgeon General of the Army and Commander of the US Army Medical Command. His civilian experience as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating officer of Project HOPE, an international health education non-governmental organization, and later, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Medical Officer of QTC, Management, Inc, one of the largest providers of outsourced medical examinations in the nation, was followed by a return to government service as the 6th Secretary of Veterans Affairs responsible for the second largest federal agency including our nation’s largest integrated health care system from 2007 to 2009.
