CSR Projects in Design for Resiliency

This project examines human and organizational factors that enhance and constrain the effectiveness of existing and future systems and polices related to preparedness, response and recovery of the maritime transportation system (MTS). The CSR works to develop the essential tools and processes necessary to create a capability of "design for resilience" for maritime resiliency. CSR researchers also identify opportunities to make security and maritime resiliency investments leverage improvements in maritime transportation business and economic performance, i.e. getting a business return on each "security dollar" investment. This research focus takes a broad view of relevant global policies and procedures. Vulnerabilities within the global supply chain are examined via a collaborative effort to strengthen maritime resiliency.
