- Help a fellow Stevens student with Art & Technology project
(posted September 18, 2012)
My name is Diane Bruzzese, I am an Art and Technology student and I am
looking to recruit a CS student to help me with my senior project. The
project will consist of a sculpture that will have my 3D animations
surrounding and interacting with it. But the animations would only be
able to be seen using LAYAR's augmented reality program and a mobile
device with a camera.
I need a student to help me with programming in LAYAR and to bring my
animations into LAYAR's software. Layar uses PHP and MySQL based
coding. There are also many tutorials on their website to get you
familiar with their software and how to create "layers". I would
require their assistance for parts of this term later on when the
animations are more complete, and for the beginning they would learn the
program. We would also need to work closely in the spring semester,
making sure everything works correctly and uploads into the program
without problems. The student would also get their name listed along
with mine during the senior Art and Technology exhibition in the spring
as a co-creator.

- Part time on campus job: webmaster (posted December 7, 2011)
From: Dr. Stan Rifkin <srifkin@stevens.edu>
I am hoping that you can help provide me some guidance about where at Stevens -- or outside Stevens
-- we might be able to find some talent to help us in specific ways with our web site
(http://sercuarc.org). We just lost our primary resource, a person with a Master of
Library Science degree who also programs in PHP, XML, HTML, and Visual Basic for Office; knows about
various web spiders so that we can collect research results from our 20 collaborator universities;
could help us implement a search function for our web site and also perform text content analysis
and possibly construct a taxonomy useful for searching systems engineering literature. She was paid
$40 per hour by us and had a significant "daytime job."
Would you happen to know anyone who might be qualified to help us? It is especially important that
he/she know about search (precision vs. recall) and modern web methods.

new project manager who can cover some of the duties.
