The State of New Jersey requires each student attending State-accredited
institutions of higher education to provide his/her complete Immunization
Record. Additionally, every full time undergraduate student
and/or campus resident graduate student must also have a completed
Health Record in the
Student Health Service Center.
In compliance with the State of New Jersey regulations, you must
be immunized with two(2) doses of measles, one (1) dose of mumps,
and one (1) dose of rubella Vaccine prior to attending any classes.
Effective September 1, 2004, law will also require that all new
students residing in Stevens housing must receive a meningococcal
vaccination as a condition of residency. Additionally, Stevens
Institute of Technology requires students to have a PPD-Mantoux
tuberculin skin test within six months of attending classes.
Newly signed legislation also stipulates that college health services
in New Jersey must provide information about meningitis disease
and keep records of the enrolling student's decision about whether
or not to receive a meningitis vaccination. This is recommended
for all resident students; however, the law requires only new
resident students to comply. Again, please be aware that as of
September 1, 2004, meningitis vaccination will be required by
all new or transfer students residing in Stevens housing.
An incomplete Immunization Record will result in a Registration
hold being placed on your account. This means you will not be
able to register in person or via Web for any future classes until
all forms are received by us.
If you have any questions concerning the above information, please
contact the Student Health Service Center at (201) 216- 5678.
